Ian's Task Chapter 2

Elizabeths last straw. (Chapter 2)

"come on, come on" I said.

Violet streams of lights filled the air. At first it was only one. But it soon split into two, then three. My fingers begin to twitch which ment I was at my last bit of energy.

Slowly the streams of light formed into a familiar shape. It was Jonathan. I smiled at it remembering the times that Jonathan and I use to share. Before the image disappeared completely. It was not the shape I was suppose to form. But it was the only thing I could think about lately.

"Elizabeth" Jonathan screamed. I could hear the door slam behind him. "How many times have I told you to close the front door?"

Too many.

"Elizabeth where are you?" his footsteps neared.

"back here in the study" I said popping up.

I greeted him with a smile seeing that he is wearing the ash gray suit I picked out for him. His handsome face isn't in the bright smile I'm use to seeing but a frown.

He step closer to me towering over me. His brood shoulders stiffened raising his hand.

It strikes my face and I fall to the floor. Clapping my eyes shut, for fear of being struck again and grabbing my cheek. This time it wasn't a sting but a throbbing ache.

"Maybe next time you'll remember that pain when you leave the door open" he straightened is jacket and ran his fingers through his dark hair before exiting the room, my eyes weld up with tears.

He had changed so much since last year, when I turned 17. I couldn't figure out why and I didn't want to anymore.

 I have to escape.

This was the last time I was going to let him hit me.

But where should I go?

Anywhere but here.
